- Camera and Photos: Access to your camera to capture vehicles and photo library to upload images.
2.3 Depth Sensing Data (LiDAR)
On supported devices (iPhone 12 Pro and newer with LiDAR), Cap uses ARKit's scene depth capabilities to verify photo authenticity. This is not face data or biometric information.
- What We Collect: We analyze the 3D depth structure of photographed scenes to determine if you are capturing a real vehicle versus a photo of a screen, printed image, or toy car.
- What We Do NOT Collect: We do not use TrueDepth for face tracking, facial recognition, or any biometric data collection. No face data is captured, stored, or processed.
- Data Processing: Raw depth imagery is processed entirely on-device and is never stored or transmitted. Only derived statistical metrics (such as depth range and flatness scores) are temporarily included with photo submissions for server-side verification.
- Data Sharing: Depth-derived statistics are not shared with third parties and contain no personal or biometric information.
- Purpose: This data is used solely to ensure the authenticity and integrity of user-submitted vehicle photographs in our community.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process transactions and send related notifications
- Verify vehicle captures and prevent duplicate claims
- Enable social features like profiles, following, and messaging
- Send push notifications about competitions, trades, and activity
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
